YUN SEOUL IS OPEN!

YUN Seoul have opened their doors!

Welcome- YUN Seoul!

YUN have opened their second location in their spiritual home of Seoul.

Located in the city’s coolest neighborhood, Seongsu, which many refer to as ‘the Brooklyn of Seoul’, YUN’s slick design and integrated coffee shop ensures they fit right in.

Walking down Achasan-ro where YUN Seoul is located, it’s impossible to miss the store; the state-of-the-art cutting machine that so often turns heads on Rosenthaler Straße has the same effect in Seoul. Encased in a glass cylinder, the machine which cuts prescription lenses for customers in 20 minutes, looks both futuristic and minimal.

You can see the entirety of the store through the sweeping windows as you walk up the concrete steps- concrete makes up one of the two main elements that design studio Labotory chose to reflect YUN’s personal style. The other is wood and together they portray a careful blend of minimalism and warmth, of technology and tradition. Read more on what inspired the designers for YUN Seoul here.

The huge bright space is shared with specialty coffee shop and neighbourhood favourite, Wicker Park. They serve up delicious, quality coffee using beans specially sourced from Tokyo (this means a beautiful coffee aroma hangs around the store and makes ordering a coffee impossible). The coffee bar is simple, without signage or clutter- just coffee! And some handmade pastries on a concrete slab. Three stools line the bar for customers and coffee lovers to sit. YUN Seoul officially opened up their giant glass doors to the public on 11th January and threw a party to celebrate- complete with goodie bags and plenty of soju!
