Acetate is a type of horn-rimmed material that makes glasses. The acetate material is a luxurious material that many people prefer because it is easy to manage and has a wide variety of colors.

Most of the types of horn frames offered by YUN are acetate and express a soft, luxurious color.

AR try-on

AR Try-On is a that lets you instantly see how you look in a pair of eyeglasses or sunglasses—down to the real color, texture, and size of each style—using just your YUN phone.

Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a common optical condition which results in blurry vision (and, if uncorrected, sometimes a headache). It results when the curve of your cornea is slightly irregular in shape, which prevents light from focusing properly on the back of the eye. This prevents you from seeing with perfect sharpness. The good news: A pair of glasses can help compensate for astigmatism.

Axis

Axis is the number on your prescription that determines the direction of your astigmatism correction. The cylinder and the axis always go together.

BIO-acetate

Bio acetate is made from natural materials like organic cotton and responsibly sourced wood pulp making the frames both biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
Our bio frames also don’t contain chemicals usually needed to make them more flexible and durable; instead we used organic plasticisers to achieve the same durability.

YUN BOHO is an eyewear specially developed to protect your eyes from harmful blue light that you might face daily using your smart phone, television, computer monitor, and similar devices. As much as we need these devices, our eyes need the protection. That is why we gave it the name BOHO, 보호 meaning ‘protection’ in Korean.

Brightsun & Mildsun

Beautiful neutral color tints with maximum chromaticity and anti-glare. The visual light transmittance is 15% (brightsun) or 25% (mildsun). It is suitable for all kinds of sports or lifestyle activities under strong sunlight.

Berlin

It is a city that opened YUN first flagship store in October 2015. Father-daughter duo started with the concept and philosophy of providing reasonable and transparent price and high quality glasses in 20 minutes to make YUN a global brand representing Korea. In Berlin, where diverse cultures coexist and always accept new things freely, YUN continues to be a beloved brand.

Clip-on

Clip-on is a practical product that can be worn as glasses and used as sunglasses when wearing clip-on. Clip-on can be largely divided into magnetic and ring types. You can use clip-on to create your own unique glasses and sunglasses.

Combi

Combination frames are eyeglass frames made of metal and plastic materials, often of a type that overlaps the top of the temple and rim of the eyeglass frames. Combination frames are relatively light and hard, but they are heavier than gold frames and less durable than horn frames (plastic ones).

Color blindness

Individuals with color blindness perceive colors differently from the way most of us do. It’s very common, and the degree of color blindness can range from mild to severe. (Those with very mild color blindness might not even know that they have it.) It’s usually a genetic condition, meaning that you are born with it. Because inherited color blindness is carried on the X chromosome, it affects more men than women. It is estimated that about 8% of all men and 0.5% of all women have some form of colorblindness.

Cylinder

It refers to the lens power needed to correct for an astigmatism. The cylinder and axis always go together—you can’t have one without the other

Demo lens

It is an acrylic lens that is inserted before buying glasses and is designed to maintain the shape of glasses. When purchasing glasses, we recommend changing them to a non-conducting optical lens because wearing glasses as they are in the demo lens condition can have an adverse effect on the eyes.

Diopter

A diopter is a unit of measurement, like “gram” or “ounce.” Instead of measuring mass, however, it measures the refractive power of a lens—in other words, it measures optical power.

Eye

The eye is an insanely complex organ, but it helps to think of it like a camera: It has a lens, it collects incoming light, and it provides an image that your brain interprets.

Fati-free

YUN fati-free lenses are comfortable and adaptable for those who experience eye strain or eye dryness due to long-term close-range attention. The distance correction factor is added to the lower part of the lens to relieve eye fatigue when viewing the distance.

Fitting

Do your frames fit? Here’s how to tell.

• Pupils should be near the center of the lens
• Lenses shouldn’t extend past the side of your face
• Eyebrows should not be inside the glasses
• When you smile, your cheeks shouldn't push the frames up
• Frames shouldn’t slide down your nose

Flat lens

It's a lens with no prescription. The default selection for the YUN uses a 1.60 refractive index, super water-coated lens.

Farsightedness

Primitive refers to the phenomenon of the retina failing to form a phase and focusing behind the retina. If the retina is not properly formed, glasses can help to form a phase in the retina.

Hinge

The screw or interlocking part that connects the end piece to the temple. Hinges are directly related to the balance of the center of the glasses, so they play various roles such as preventing sagging, improving wearability, and changing the design.

Co-founder CJ, had been working in the optical industry for 28 years designing and customising unique lenses for businesses before retail component YUN was realised. This heritage in the industry means the design and manufacturing process is accurate and carried out with maximum proficiency and skill.

We think that less is more at YUN, which is why all of our lenses are designed and manufactured in house by our team in Incheon at Opticom. YUN mirror sunglasses lenses are multilayered to reduce glare by an additional 10 to 16 percent. It is also scratch resistant compared to the existing product. Ideal for active sports activities such as bicycles, windsurfing, skydiving, and hang gliding.

Myopia is a phenomenon in which the retina fails to appear and focuses on the retina. If the retina is not properly formed, glasses can help to form a phase in the retina.

It's a support that touches your nose from the frame of your glasses. All-in-one horn frames without metal pad can be distinguished by world-fit, Asian-fit, depending on the height of the pad. An optician is an eye care professional who is trained to interpret, fit, and dispense prescription eyewear. They don’t provide you with the prescription itself, but they make sure everything is up and running perfectly after you’ve gotten a prescription from an eye doc.

Phoropter

A foredropter is a device for examining the eyes.Inside the equipment, there are various lenses for accurate eye examination.-YUN can be examined with the latest equipment, a pointer.

Polarized lenses

igh efficient polarizing filters eliminate reflections and improve the visual clarity. It blocks unnecessary or harmful light waves from light bundles. Suitable for winter sports (ski, snowboard), summer water sports (fishing), driving, hiking and golf.

Prism

This is the prescription for correcting son-in-law and cross eye, and it is the prism prescription glasses that correct using the principle of light breaking. If you need a prism correction in addition to manual correction, you need to use a prism lens to have a clear poetic life.

Preform lens

A preform is one of the processing methods of lenses. Prefoam lens is a lens produced by preform processing method. Prefoam calculates and processes curvature at more than 100,000 points from the design of the lens, providing good quality lenses such as distortion minimization, manual improvement, wide vision, and thin thickness. All order lenses of YUN Yoon are made from preform processing lenses.

Prescription

In order to fit the glasses, you need to know the correct lens prescription through the examination. You can get a prescription if you have an eye exam at an eye clinic or an optician's office. Unlike commonly known, decimal obscurity such as 1.0 and 0.8 can be seen, the numbers listed in the prescription numbers indicate the exact condition of the eye. Get your own prescription from YUN Yoon through a thorough examination.

Progressives

IProgressive lenses are like a fun “two-for-one” deal, offering multiple focal corrections all in the same lens (distance correction on top, intermediate in the middle, and reading correction on bottom). This means you can see your whole field of vision without switching between multiple pairs of glasses.

Refraction

In science terms, refraction is the bending of any wave (but for our purposes, a light wave) as it passes from one medium into another. In eyewear terms, refraction refers to the process of determining your refractive error.

Retina

The nerve tissue that covers the innermost part of the eyeball, converts information about light into electrical information and transmits it to the brain. Through this process, we can see things.

Rim

It refers to the eyeball part as part of an eyeglass frame. The frames are supposed to be marked in size, but among them, the eye size is included. Displays in order of maximum diameter (Rim)-bridge-temple size.

Single vision

Glasses lenses that are most commonly used for vision correction are called single-focus lenses. These lenses are customized to correct eye conditions such as myopia, primitive, and astigmatism.

Temple

It means the arm part of the glasses. Glasses frames should be marked with the size of the glasses in order of maximum diameter (lim) and bridge-temple size.

Titanium

Light metal material is semi-permanent, corrosion-free, high elasticity, and durable against external shocks in daily life.

Ultraviolet light(UV)

Ultraviolet light is a form of electromagnetic radiation that surrounds us, but it’s not visible with the human eye. Our main source of UV light is the sun.
