KNOK STORE – THE BEST OF KOREAN DESIGN

Across the front garden and past the sets of white coffee tables the new KNOK STORE with its striking clean and minimal interior just recently re-opened its doors.

Through the huge windows natural light falls on stark concrete walls and floors and the contrasting pinewood elements and plants; architectural photographs of Seoul are the only decorative elements. A store design and interior embracing Korean high-tech and traditional patterns, with an eye for the natural elements for which Korea is known, as minimalistic as possible. It is not dominating but highlighting the products that are neatly lined on the metal racks and polycarbonate blocs with futuristic lighting.

KNOK STORE offers carefully chosen fashion brands, design articles, cosmetics and household accessories from Korea. Among others you find garments from NouNou that are known for their collaboration with the French artist Jean Jullien, handmade Korean copper vases and pots from Craft Combine, and sunglasses from YUN. All brands are defined by a commitment for unique design and peerless quality – the best that Korea has to offer!

“We want to show a snapshot of today’s Seoul, other than Kimchi and K-Pop. There’s so much happening in regard to style, design, architecture and the tech industry, and it needs to be seen in Europe.”

The continuous search for something new that is remarkable and courageous is what contemporary Korean design is about. Trends from abroad are quickly adapted in the fashion- and design industry and then made own. All products represent change, the constant progress of Seoul, as well as the traditional culture and nature of its people.

When sourcing new designs and brands, it is always about being new and different, and as KNOK STORE is currently the only Korean concept store in Europe they sell most of their brands exclusively.

Both founders see KNOK STORE as a platform, for brands, but also for exchange between European and Korean creatives, and will host exhibitions by young Korean artists and other events in addition to a café corner in the future.
