WATER ME (SOMETIMES)

Vibrant leaves on #plantsofinstagram 

Would have you think

That caring for a plant 

Is an ease

 

But my Aloe is leaking

And my cheese plant is drooping

What’s your love language!?

I whisper in anguish 

 

But then out of the blue

Or green, should I say?

A perfectly formed, new baby leaf!

Here to save the day

 

Green-thumbed, novice, 

Gardener, botanist

Plants bring us joy

With their resilience.

 

So here’s to plants

They teach us to keep growing

And to never ever 

Over-water a succulent.
