RUNDGANG 2018
Ever wanted to stroll through the halls of an art school, peek into artist workshops and studios and breathe in the unique artistic atmosphere? This is your chance: Each year at the end of the semester it is time for the open days called Rundgang where Berlin’s leading art schools open their doors, inviting interested students, art lover and other visitors behind their otherwise closed halls.
khb – Weißensee academy of arts
A very good reason to go to Weißensee during this weekend is the open campus of the academy of the arts, taking place the July 14th- 15th.
Take a look at the productions, finished works, projects, collaborations and study works from graduate students of the design and fine art departments, check out the works of the *foundationClass working with refugees and the post-graduate studies, and the studios and workshops only opening their doors this weekend. More graduate works from the Free Arts and Visual Communication students are presented at two other locations. Find out more here.
UDK – University of the Art
Just one weekend later you can visit the workshops, ateliers, studios and rehearsal rooms of Europe’s biggest artistic university, the University of the Arts Berlin. Alone the building is striking and you can sense the history of the UDK dating back as far as 1696, but blending with today’s international and modern creativity.
During the long weekend the faculties of Fine Arts, Music, Design and Performing Arts are presenting their exhibitions, presentations, readings and concerts. The closing exhibition of this years Fine Arts graduates will be shown on all three days on the ground floors of the main building, the final concert of the Music department will be on Friday in the university’s concert hall.
